Music and Concerts

Music at Lytchett Minster and St. Dunstan's churches.

At our churches music is a central element within our worship and has also expanded to become a part of our local community.

St Dunstan's is a church with a modern setting and has good sound system, a keyboard and drums set.

The Parish church is very traditional, has an organ and a grand piano and is a perfect choice for concerts as well as worship due to its amazing acoustics.
Most concerts take place here and are always open to all who would like to attend whether a church member or not.

Previous performances have included many different styles of music including The Bournemouth Sinfonietta
Saxophone jazz groups
String Ensembles

Woodwind ensembles
Opera
Purbeck Chamber Music and many others.

We have also had music student performances, and performances by local schools including Lytchett Manor and The Yarrels playing in our churches.

Sadly the Covid pandemic has temporarily halted an amazing community programme, however we are starting to open our doors again and future plans include:-

On 23rd January, at 3 p.m., There will be a free concert with a retiring collection in aid of the Church’s Fabric Fund - we are planning to build an extension which will give us inside toilet facilities and are raising funds towards this end. This will be given by Plus 4s, a local wind ensemble featuring flutes and saxophones.

Piano Recital by

William Hancox

Future concerts and events will be added as local choral and music groups restart.

We are fortunate in both churches to be able to rearrange our seating to a less formal cafe style should we wish and are able to provide facilities for refreshments.
Both churches have disabled access.

If you would like to present a concert at one of our churches please contact our church office on 01202 624622
